11/19/2008--Pum Okey Village, Battambang Province, Cambodia..42 year old Many Sor, originally from Rockeville, MD, USA, arrived in Cambodia with severe mental health problems and lives with relatives in Battambang Province. Before getting new medication, he was often violent in the village attacking friends, family and neighbors, but drugs brought up regularly from Phnom Penh, seem to have helped his condition. He helps his relatives by cutting grass for their cows as well as other jobs around the farm...With 2 children back in the US, he is convinced they will soon come to Cambodia to take him back to the US. he remembers living in Cambodia during the Khmer Rouge time, being forced to farm 12 hours a day instead of attending school and only having meals of grass soup...©2008 Stuart Isett.
