9/12/2006--Seattle, WA, USA..Seattle City Council members are moving towards spending $4.5 million to repair the Seattle Center Monorail up to date. Opened during the 1962 World's Fair, the monorail has experienced a series of accidents In 2002, a fire trapped passengers inside the car and in 2005 cars sideswiped each other. All totaled, the monorail has broken down six times in five years.
