4/17/2010--Chute Lake, Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, Canada..Chute Lake resort, a mountain lodge boasting no frills cabins, and were stunned by its stupendous and strange collection of 20th century memorabilia. In the lobby are old steam irons and glass telephone cable insulators. In the back buildings, old rusty sawblades  were mounted on rickety garage doors, two stories of old license plates lined the barn wall, and a counter was affixed with enough meatgrinders to occupy two busy octopuses...The Okanagan Valley in Canada's British Columbia province has become a popular retirement spot and produces some of Canada's best wines, thanks to the mineral-rich glacial till, the temperature-modifying effects of a 1000-ft deep lake, and a surfeit of sunshine, by Canadian standards...©2010 Stuart Isett.
