2/19/2011--Seattle, WA, USA..The beach at Myrtle Edwards Park next to the Olympic Sculpture Park in Seattle overlooking Elliot Bay, Puget Sound and the Olympic Mountains. When the Seattle Art Museum's Sculpture Park opened in 2007 on industrial land on Puget Sound it included this beach restoration. The Museum aimed to restore the former industrial site, while providing a unique setting for outdoor sculpture and public use. The park's innovative design achieved a wide range of environmental restoration goals, including brownfield redevelopment, creation of a salmon habitat, extensive use of native plantings and the capture and use of rainwater on site..©2011 Stuart Isett.
