Larger companies are buying iPhone games and acquisitions from smaller developers such as Urban Spoon. Some creators of programs for the iPhone have managed to strike it rich from their bedrooms by selling their work through Apple's App Store. But there is also another way for these programmers to profit: some are getting bought out by larger companies eager to expand their mobile reach.
