Union leader Wilson Ferguson of the International Association of Machinists (IAM), which represents Boeing machinists in the Puget Sound region. Ferguson is president of the Local A unit of the union and leader of the "Vote No" movement on the latest contract offer from Boeing.
Here, at the union's District 751 offices in Seattle, Washington, Ferguson poses before he meets with fellow union members for an informal meeting to discuss the upcoming union vote on Friday, January 3rd, 2014. 31,000 Boeing workers will be voting on whether to approve an 8-year contract extension of their current Boeing contract. If they vote to approve the deal, then Boeing will decide to build its new 777X in Washington State. If the union rejects the revised deal -- as they did in November on a previous deal-- then Boeing may build the 777X in another state.
