Here: Undertaker James Lindley in the basement of the Columbia Funeral Home, gently dusts nearly two dozen urns containing the ashes of possible veterans, delivered to the funeral home by the King County Medical Examiner’s office. Mr. Lindley is investigating each person to see if they can obtain a military funeral at the nearby Tahoma National Cemetery.
James Lindley, 34, an undertaker and US Marine Corp Veteran, works at the Columbia Funeral Home in Seattle, Washington and has taken it upon himself to process the remains of indigent veterans and ensure their remains are placed in Tahoma National Cemetery in nearby Kent, WASH. The veterans are given full military funerals with active service members as well as volunteers who stand-in for unavailable next-of-kin, accepting the folded flags provided by the Veterans Administration.
On this day, with the help of Mr. Lindley, the remains of 4 veterans were interred at the Tahoma National Cemetery:
Richard Fesler, born 1951, died2014. US Army Veteran
Rocky Stallone, born 1951, died 2014. Marine Corps veteran
Russell Ristow, born 1944, died 2014. US Army veteran.
Wayne Roberts, Born 1937, died 2014. US Navy veteran.
