In the Home, the physical and digital worlds come together to provide new kinds of experiences. Using sensor technology, the Home can assemble a grocery list, suggest recipes based on available items in the pantry and refrigerator, and offer step-by-step guidance. Here Mr. Cluts receives help with a recipe based on items he has placed on the kitchen counter....The Home of the Future, located in the company's Executive Briefing Center, shows people technology 5 to 10 years into the future. The full-scale model home was first opened in September 1994 by Craig Mundie, chief research and strategy officer at Microsoft Corp. Since its inception, it has been a place for the company to explore practical applications of cutting-edge technical trends...When you walk into the home, you're greeted by the voice of "Grace". Grace tells what's happened since you left the home, including the news that your electric scooter will be charged in 37 minutes, or your daughter got an A on her math test, or you have four voicemail messages. Hundreds of tiny sensors are located throughout the home, tracking everything from whether your suit is at the cleaners to when a plant needs more light.
