Corbin was visiting Seattle on vacation so did not have a laptop with him and needed to use the business center to print out boarding passes...Business travelers armed with laptops, smartphones and wifi cards, are eschewing hotel business centers in favor of working in their rooms or the lobby, and hotels across the price spectrum have added the trappings of those business centers to where the guests are. Hotel business centers are still used by travelers who have a document or boarding pass to print, or need to check email and don't have their laptop, but they will usually get in and out quickly, rather than spend hours working there. And the business centers themselves are likely to be small rooms with just a few computers and printers. The Silver Cloud Hotel in Seattle, part of a ten-hotel chain in the Northwest, offers up two workstations and two printers, "and business people barely use them," said the hotel's general manager Chauncey DeVitis.
