12/4/2006--Kolkata (Calcutta), India..The Marble Palace, located on Muktarambabu Street in North Kolkata. Raja Rejendra Mullick built this house in 1835. The building has fluted columns, cast iron filigree work besides a vast collection of European arts and artifacts and a sculpture filled garden all with heavy Baroque influences...It is famous for marble wall & floors, antiques, paintings by Rubens, curios, marble statues, floor to ceiling mirrors and for its collection of rare birds.
